VIDEO The Video above is of the recent Demonstration by outraged Members of the Public, Vets and Supporters outside the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons protesting against its de facto ban on the use of Complementary and Alternative Medicines as a first line treatment for Pets. Our thanks to everyone involved, the support is truly humbling.

Notice to Clients: Temporary Summer Changes to the running of the Practice

As many clients are already aware we run two practices alongside each other; one for Dogs, Cats and Small Furries; the other for Poultry, Gamebirds and Waterfowl covering much of South East England.

Both are equally as successful, although the latter is seasonal through the summer from April to September.

Previously Jo Card and Mark have shared the Bird practice, enabling both to carry on with some Small Animal work throughout the summer season

This year Jo is expecting her first child in June, and we have not be able to source any maternity cover with the skills set we need, which leaves only Mark to run a practice which demands at peak 7 days a week, pretty much from dawn till dusk

So Mark is having to step back from the Small Animal work until sometime in September. Vicky and Gosia are not taking any holiday during this time other than for course commitments so that the practice is covered.

Vicky will take on Marks Homeopathic and Acupuncture cases, and will be able to discuss these with Mark if needed as he will be in the clinic most days in between Visits.

In case there is a huge summer demand, or there are too many cases on any particular day, our friends at Arun Vet Group have very kindly offered to help us out when we need them too.

If needed cases will be re-directed to the Westergate Clinic in the first instance, but further support from the Hospital in Storrington will be available if required

Arun Vet Group already take on our out-of-hours work so will be familiar to many clients.

Its not going to be a particularly easy summer for us, but we have a great team who are all committed to making this work, so do please bear with us and things will be back to normal in the Autumn

Mark, Debby and the team

We have a new vet! Meet Gosia

Gosia graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, in January 2013. She has been working in the UK since May 2013, and has joined us from a busy small animal practice in the Midlands.

Gosia speaks 4 languages - English & Polish fluently, and Russian & Czech to a high level. She is particularly interested in feline medicine, dentistry, and internal medicine. She is looking forward to learning about the holistic side of veterinary medicine, including herbs and homeopathy, as well as meeting all of our clients and patients.
